2020 Scholarship Virtual Awards Ceremony

On June 18, 2020, Dr. Carlessia Hussein and the Community Foundation of Howard County (CFHoCo) hosted the 2020 Scholarship Award Virtual Ceremony, recognizing and celebrating the 41 recipients of the 2020 Carlessia Hussein Minority Scholarships.
The ceremony welcomed over 60 attendees consisting of students, their families, supporters of the Scholarship Fund and elected officials. The ceremony featured congratulatory remarks and inspirational words from several local leaders, including Howard County Executive, Dr. Calvin Ball; Scholarship Fund Founder, Dr. Carlessia Hussein; HCPSS Executive Director of Community, Parent and School Outreach, James LeMon; and CFHoCo President & CEO, Beverly White-Seals. Officials in attendance included Senator Shirley Nathan-Pulliam (Rtd), Senator Clarence Lam and Delegate Terri Hill.
